After installation, the tempered glass may face the followed factors, which affect singly or affect multiply. When the acting force from the factors is beyond the strength which the glass can bear, the toughened glass will break. Followed are the different factors,
First, the tempered glass edges is squeezed.In installation, the left space between glass and frame is too small, when the glass expand under high temperature, it will squeeze with the glass window frame.
Second, Thermal stress in the glass. Under the sunlight or the effect from other heat source, the glass edges and the middle part will be heated unevenly, then the thermal stress will emerge in the glass, to cause the glass broken.
Third, the added stress left in the installation. If the installation is not proper, and add the crooked stress on the glass, this may cause the glass broken in one day.
Forth, The strength on the glass edges is lowered. The defect such as the edges broken, corner collapse, could concentrate the edges stress, then the strength will be reduced.
Fifth, the inner stress in the glass. The Nickel Sulfide and other impurity substance in the glass can bring the inner stress, which could cause the glass broken.
After the installation of toughened glass, the toughened glass broken with non-human factors is not equal to the glass spontaneous explosion, the factors that caused the glass broken after installation is much, but the spontaneous explosion is the major. From the broken appearance, we could make the rough judgement about if it is spontaneous explosion. If the broken point is in the middle of the glass with butterfly rash, then it is probably the spontaneous explosion. If the broken point is near the glass edges, the broken should by caused by the edge defects.
